Combining old-time Appalachia with country blues and a distinctive songwriting style, Diana Jones is a consummate storyteller. Her songs resonate with an intense sense of longing and bitter-sweet emotion. A rapidly rising star, she recently appeared in the BBC4 Folk America concert hosted by Seasick Steve, and has also supported Ralph Stanley at the Barbican. She now returns to London to play her own solo show with music from her newest release Better Times Will Come.
What sets her apart and this is the highest praise in a crowded music profession is her originality. (Richard Thompson)
Opening the evening is Kansas City singer/songwriter Krystle Warren whose voice has a rare depth of emotion that is utterly captivating and whose style encompasses a range of influences from Nick Drake to Joni Mitchell, through Nina Simone, Willie Nelson and The Kinks.
Catch her on Later with Jools Hollandthis week, as she plays songs from her debut album Circles.
